Resolution Prohibiting the Transit, by Any Means of Air or Maritime Transport, of Cucurbitaceae from All Municipalities of Falcón State, Other States of the Republic of Venezuela and Other Countries to the Paraguaná Peninsula (3 pages, in Spanish)
This Resolution prohibits the air or maritime transit of cucurbits (including squash, zucchini, gourds, chayote, melon, watermelon and cucumber) from Falcón State, other Venezuelan states and other countries to the Paraguaná Peninsula. Land transit is permitted subject to phytosanitary inspection and certification at origin, sealed containers, transit permits, and time limits. The measure aims to demonstrate the absence of the South American cucurbit fruit fly (Anastrepha grandis) in order to support melon and watermelon exports from the Peninsula.
