Public Notice under the Commodity Inspection Act

In order to enhance the protection of consumers, the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI)proposes to regulate chargers and secondary lithium batteries for electrical bicycles and electrical assisted bicycles.For chargers, the inspection standards are CNS 15425-1 for safety, CNS 13438 for EMC, and section 5 of CNS 15663 for marking of presence conditions of 6 hazardous substances. For secondary lithium batteries, the inspection standards are CNS 15424-1, 15424-2 and 15387. The conformity assessment procedure for all such products will be the Registration of Product Certification (RPC) Scheme (Module II+ III)
