The TPKM will intend to regulate secondary lithium batteries for electrical motorcycles as commodities subject to mandatory inspection. As of 1 January 2013, all such products must be inspected by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), and must conform to the requirements of the CNS 15424-1 “Electric motorcycles battery system-Part 1: The safety requirements of removable battery system”, CNS 15424-2 “Electric motorcycles battery system-Part 2: The safety requirements of stationary battery system” and CNS 15387 “Safety testing method for secondary lithium batteries for electrical motorcycles” when marketed. The conformity assessment procedure of secondary lithium batteries for electrical motorcycles is the Registration of Product Certification (RPC) Scheme.
